'As I sit here in Kentucky far away from the family and friends of my sweet Yvonne, I can relate to all the good things Yvonne did during her life with us. But, I remember times spent with her trying to teach her to sing "When You Wore a Tulip" in tune, which she did in time. I was with her in October, and we had a whole day together, just talking and seeing some sights in town, and having a lovely dinner at Chris Mills. Sitting outside and watching 
 the beautiful water go by. We were laughing in the car as I read a book concerning the do's and don'ts after hip surgery. It was a fun day. When she took me home to her Mom & Dad's, and was ready to leave, we hugged and kissed, because I was leaving the next day to return to Kentucky. That hug and kiss and that whole day are what I will always remember.

'I have never known anyone like Yvonne. When she smiled you saw the Holy Spirit in her. No matter how much pain she was in she smiled. Many would say how amazing or unreal that she would smile through pain? but those of use that knew her know that she LOVED the LORD with all her heart and all her soul therefore she produced the Fruit of the spirit. Peace, patience, goodness, self control, etc. She was given so many gifts because she was faithful in using them. How could some one smile through pain? Only through the joy found in Christ Jesus. So although I morn for the Loss of the best mother in Law a girl could ask for and the special times to come that she will not be here. I also smile because I to have the joy of the Lord. This family is strong because of that Joy! Yvonne's boldness and joy played a MAJOR role in faclitaing this strong family her children siblings as well as her parents are all saved because of the gifts givin to her.

'We all have or have had friends of our own choosing> But when we choose our friends, they may be a good choice, but they are not the BEST because good is always the enemy of best. And God CHOOSE my friend and special buddie for me, THANKS JESUS!! 
 My husband and I met Yvonne and Craig about 17 yrs. ago and we have been friends ever since. 
 The moment that sealed our friendship as a Divine hook-up, a friend of God's choosing, I shal NEVER forget. 
 The four of us were at my cousins ranch for a few days of rest and relaxtion. Yvonne and I went for a jeep ride around the property. I knew that she was a special gift from God to me and that I would serve her in some capacity forever, so as we sat there for a few minutes looking at all of Gpd's beauty around us, I said, "Yvonne, what can I do for you? what do you need from me?" Here answer changed my life and the life of my family for eternity. She said," Linda, I need a friend. I need a friend that doesn't need me. I need a friend who doesn't pull from me , but someone I can draw from. I need a friend who understands the things of the Spirit, so we can talk about the things of God together. And when i sensed the Presence of Jesus within you, I knew the He had brought to me the friend I had prayed for, for so long." We both were overcome with the Presence of Jesus and with tears in both our eyes were knew that we would truly be FOREVER FRIENDS ans BUDDIES!! 
 I really could never put into words all that her life has meant to me through 17 or so years so I will will do my best to just summarize it: 
 "YVONNE, MY FRIEND" 
 Was a friend of Jesus above all else, 
 She was a lover of her family and all that is good, 
 Yvonne was a God fearing lady who loved dearly and purely, 
 Yvonne, was a Devil-BUTT-KICKING, Demon Busting, HOLY GHOST HIT MAMA!!!! 
 She was my trusted fox-hole buddie, 
 All of heaven knew her and all of hell feared her, 
 I believe every moring when she woke up without saying a word she said, "Good Morning, Jesus," and All of hell said, "OH! HELL Yvonne, is awake." those who know her best know what I mean, Ha-Ha 
 But now My Friend, My Buddie's labors are over and she has received her reward. You see Yvonne, could care less about the streets of gold, gates of pearl, walls of jasper, etc. because all she wanted was Jesus and more of Jesus. Som please, don't take it too personal, but she's not in heaven thinking about us, maybe in 10 million years of worshipping Her Lord and singing "HALLELUIAH to the LAMB", she might think about us, but I doubt it. BUT< OH when we get there, she will escort us to the feet of Jesus and then we will ALL praise Him FOVER TOGETHER!!! Yvonne, was a pioneer apostle we should have known she'd go before us, ha 
 Thank You Jesus for my FOREVER friend! I will do my best to honour her life by remembering all tht she taught me and reproduce Your goodness to others as she did.

'Dear Family, 
 Your wife, Mom, Grandma; was such a loving, giving person. She was youth leader at Abundant Life Church for a very short time after I moved up into the group, but I knew that she really cared about me, as she did all her "kids" and I saw the deep love she had for you all. I couldn't wait to get into the group because I saw how much fun Pam and everybody had. I remember a time when she and Eric came to Judson to my Sociology class to share about Exodus. She taught me a special respect for the Lord and through her unique work with Exodus, she literally scared the H_LL out of me. She will be missed by all of us who were so honored and blessed to be in her presence for such a short time. I look forward to spending eternity with her catching up!!!

'When I think of all of the memories of Yvonne that are layered in my soul, I realize they form a composite of time. Yvonne served, led, and loved members of our Youth Group throughout our years in high school, but she led by example with love. She had such a tremendous impact on our lives during those years. I remember the time spent having late night chats, incredible prayer services, multiple fundraisers and wonderful trips. Yvonne made it impossible for those around her to sit on the fence. She showed me, in a dynamic way, that following God whole-heartedly is the only way to truly live. Craig, Joe, Pete, Eric and Kevin - I am praying for comfort for your family. I am praying that you will remember all of the love and life your wife and mom shared with you and that the legacy she leaves behind will be yours to pass on to generations to come. God bless you.

'Mrs. Peterson was our youth group leader at our church. She taught us so much. She was a wonderful influence on our lives. The lessons she taught us effect us to this day and help us as we go on our life's path teaching our 3 boys about God. She is dancing in His arms now. 'My first knowledge of Yvonne was in hearing of her work and ministry on some of the Christian talk shows several years ago. I was very impressed by her courage and her tremendous influence in that ministry to people in cults and the occult. But for years I never had the opportunity to meet her. Then perhaps 3 years ago, I had the opportunity to meet one of the fruits of her motherhood, her son Pete who I have been so blessed to know as a good friend and dear brother in Christ. And getting to know the high quality person Pete is as a man of God, husband, father, and a friend, I believe I also was blessed in that sense to see what a tremendous person Yvonne was as a mother and woman of God. 
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know she will be so very missed by them all, but I rejoice with them knowing she is safe home with the Lord Jesus she so faithfully loved and served.'

'The last time I saw my Aunt Yvonne was when she drove in for my engagement party over Thanksgiving. She helped me fix my hair and helped my mom decorate for the party. That was so like her...she had a very giving spirit. I'll always remember our weekly lunches when I lived in San Antonio. She was so much fun to be around and really lit up a room with her bubbly personality. She had something about her which made people instantly like her. I know she is smiling down from heaven at all those she loved and praying we will smile again too.'

'I just wanted to let the family know what a positive impact that Mrs. Peterson had on my life. I can remember the days of youth group like they were yesterday. The fund raisers, the bible studies, swim parties, the ski trip, the trip to Colorado, the retreats at Lake LBJ, and countless other memories. The most important thing that I remember out of all the wonderful memories is a woman who taught me about faith and perserverance. Without her love and guidance I know I would not have made it through one of the toughest experiances of my life, having cancer. I thank God that I had the opportunity to know such a loving, giving and wonderful youth group leader, mentor, and friend. I can't wait to see her one day in heaven so that I can tell her the words from a Ray Boltz song "Thank you for giving to the Lord, because I was a life that was changed."'

'I am sitting down to summarize my life experience as the oldest son of Yvonne Peterson and I am completely overwhelmed. There is not enough time left in my life to adequately summarize what Mom has meant to me. There is not enough paper left in the world to hold all that should be written about her. She was in fact the single most influential factor in my life outside our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her accomplishments for the kingdom are too many to list in a hundred lifetimes. I truly believe that every person that ever came in contact with my mom, no matter how brief the encounter, was changed by the pieces of Jesus that were left behind to forever minister to their spirit.

I can't believe you are gone and I miss you so much; and at the same time I can see you with your big blue eyes and your mischievious smile dancing at the feet of Jesus finally getting to meet the God you adored, face to face. I will never forget you. You have greatly impacted my life as my sponsor. You have helped me grow individually as well as helped my marriage. In the last few days, I have been reflecting on you and the many conversations we had. I promise you that I will carry what you taught me to others. You will live on through me. Thank you for giving to the Lord; I was a life that was changed.

'Our prayers will be asking God to strengthen and cradle each member of Yvonne's family as we send her to live with her Lord. She would be so very proud of the impact she has made on the lives of her children and would be so pleased to see them all ban together around Craig to offer love and strength from the faith and wisdom she shared with you. 'Christmas morning. How fitting that her Savior, born to die so that He could give her access to Him in eternity, called her home on that very day. She loved Christmas because she loved gift giving. God was generous with her and she was generous with the gifts our Lord gave to her. Not a single one was wasted on her. He gave her the gift of prophecy, evangelism, wisdom and exhortation. He gave her the gift of discernment, and the boldness to match. He gave her an ability to sense the needs of those around her, and the ability to meet those needs. She not only gave tangible things, but gifts of service, listening, well-placed words, touches and smiles. With her eyes alone, she could encourage you, comfort you and correct you. If you met her, you weren?t just ?touched? by her, she poured into you and you came away with a part of her deposited into you. And TIME. She was able to get more out of one day than most would get out of a whole week. God gave her the energy to fulfill all the areas of ministry that He called her to. Her calendar was always full, and she went about her agenda with class, with style, enthusiasm, and a smile. Always a smile. Everyone knew she was busy, yet she never made a person feel rushed. She didn?t divide her attention. Everyone she met with came away feeling like they were the most important person at that moment. It always seemed like God multiplied her time. But He gave her just enough time to accomplish the things He wanted done. He knew she would do them. She was faithful. 
What a privilege it's been for me, her daughter-in-law of 22 years, to have had direct access to such an incredible woman. Words are not enough. To say I'll miss her is not enough. I'm overwhelmed with the loss.

'Craig-Pete-Kevin-Eric and family - I'm so sorry to hear of Yvonne's passing. She was so wonderful to me and all of the youth that she so selflessly helped. I believe she was instrumental in keeping all of us on track with our walk with the Lord. Your family has meant a great deal to me over the years and I will keep all of you in my prayers! Stay strong and know that we are all thinking of you!

God comforts us and fills us with hope. 1 Corinthians 1:3,4, While Jesus was on earth, he was empowered to resurrect the dead. John 5:21 When his friend Lazarus died, he told his disciples: "I am journeying...to awaken him from sleep."John 11:11 So just imagine under his Kingdom rule, there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Acts 24:15 So for the Peterson family, yes, the death of a loved one can cause much distress and sorrow, which may last for years. But viewing the dead from God's standpoint can indeed bring us us comfort!'
