

Rosemary Jean Randolph Lawlace, a loving and sweet woman and a wonderful mother full of unconditional love, passed away on March 17, 2022 at the age of 94 in San Antonio, Texas. Her husband of 70 years, Robert L. Lawlace, died in 2018. She is survived by her children J. Randolph Lawlace (Isla Grant), Sally J. Lawlace, Lawrence J. Lawlace (Kathryn), and Jennifer L. Lawlace (Nicholas Dimotsis), and grandchildren Andrew M. Lawlace, Samuel J. Lawlace, Emily R. Hoyt, Ann Robie Lawlace and Margaret Randolph Lawlace and great-grandchildren Curtis, Jemima and Rhoda Lawlace and Jubilee Hoyt. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Beard Twigg. She was predeceased by her siblings Robert P. Randolph, Gerald J. Randolph and Martha Randolph Birge.
Rosemary was born on July 15, 1927 in Oblong, Crawford County, Illinois to Ernest E. (Pat) Randolph and Gladys Irene Preston Randolph. She graduated from Oblong High School in 1945 and moved to Evansville, Indiana where she worked as a secretary. Rosemary and Bob met while they worked at Servel Corporation and were married on August 22, 1948 in Evansville. They lived for a short time in Cincinnati while Bob completed a degree in chemical engineering at the University of Cincinnati before returning to Evansville where Bob worked at Servel and Mead Johnson. In 1963 the family moved to Mexico City, Mexico where Bob was the director of production for Mead Johnson and Bristol Myers Squibb. After fifteen years of wonderful experiences in Mexico Bob and Rosie moved to Houston in 1978 and then to Westwood Shores, Trinity, Texas in 1994.
Rosemary was a faithful member of First Baptist Church (Evansville, Indiana), Capital City Baptist Church (Mexico City), Kingsland Baptist Church (Katy, Texas) and Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church (Trinity, Texas). She served in many capacities in these churches, including as a choir member. She was active with other community organizations in Trinity, such as the Loaves and Fishes food bank. Rosemary was a stylish woman and a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain friends and family with her excellent cooking. Rosie and Bob enjoyed trips to Guatemala, Australia and England and other places to visit friends from Mexico.
The family profoundly thanks Adriana Martinez and Mary Benavides for their exceptional loving care of Rosie during her last years of life.
Internment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on April 13, 2022.
