Rosie Lee Adams

Rosie Lee Adams was born to Lila Harrell in Normangee,Texas on March 25, 1918, passed away May 7, 2022 in San Antonio, TX.
She married Grover Adams and they relocated to the Rio Grande Valley They were blessed with five children: Carrie Bateman, Muriel Johnson (Rubin), Linda Smith, Charles Adams (Deceased) and Glenda Adams.
Rosie accepted Christ at a very early age. She spent her young adult life as a member of Mt. Sinia Baptist Church in Weslaco Texas. She was active in all areas of the church including the women’s missionary, and multiple choirs. She was also very active in the Eastern Star organization.
After moving to San Antonio, Rosie United with the Wheatley Heights First Baptist Church.
Rosie began her life 104 years ago and was only able to complete an 8th grade education. She worked in the fields, picking and hoeing cotton, cleaning houses, washing and ironing for others and caring for her own family. Rosie was widowed at the early age of 36 leaving her with 4 young children to provide for, despite these hardships all her children graduated from high school and received a secondary education. She ended her work career as a head cook at Luby’s Cafeteria in McAllen TX.
Rosie enjoyed playing dominoes, working jigsaw puzzles, cooking, quilting, sewing and singing.
Rosie was preceded in death by her mother, Lila; brother, Tom and son, Charles.
Rosie leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and great- great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
