Rosie, born Rosa Elisia Trejo on December 25, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, was the beloved daughter of Merced Jose Trejo and Maria Campos Trejo. As a lifelong resident of San Antonio, she dedicated many years of service to her community through her work in draft mapping and later as a teacher's assistant with the San Antonio Independent School District. After retiring, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, embracing her most treasured role as "Momo" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Merced Jose Trejo and Maria Campos Trejo, and her siblings, Ralph Trejo, Rebecca Pena, Rachel Gray, and Roy Trejo.
Rosie is survived by her loving daughters, Jacqueline Rose Miles and her husband Scott Miles, and Evelyn Caldwell; her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Rose Salinas and her husband Anthony Salinas; Kristin Rose Powers and her husband Drew Powers; Sarah Rose Miles; and George Rodriguez; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Adam Salinas, Andrew Salinas, Sofia Rose Powers, and soon-to-arrive Ava Rose Powers.
One of Rosie's greatest joys was watching her family grow through the generations. Her legacy of love is reflected in the family names she inspired, as her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters proudly carry "Rose" as part of their names in honor of the woman whose love, strength, faith, and devotion helped shape their lives. It is a beautiful reminder that her influence will continue through future generations.
To her family, Rosie was so much more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was "Momo." The name was spoken with affection, comfort, and admiration by generations who were blessed to know her love. While she devoted many years to her career, her favorite role began after retirement, when she wholeheartedly embraced being a full-time grandmother and, later, a proud great-grandmother. Family was the center of Rosie’s world and the greatest joy of her life. She loved fiercely, gave generously, and showed up without hesitation whenever she was needed. Through life's happiest celebrations and its most difficult moments, her family could always count on her steady presence, comforting words, and unconditional love. She shared in every triumph, carried burdens alongside those she loved, and made each family member feel cherished beyond measure.
Though petite in stature, Rosie possessed a remarkable strength of spirit. She was fiercely protective, always standing up for the people she loved, and was never afraid to speak up for what she believed. Kind and compassionate by nature, she also had a feisty side that emerged whenever her loved ones needed an advocate. Her courage, determination, and unwavering loyalty were gifts that made her family feel safe, protected, and deeply loved. Rosie was also known for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and ability to bring laughter wherever she went. Her laugh was contagious, and her joy was felt by everyone around her.
As a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan, Rosie rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team. Yet, her greatest enthusiasm was reserved for her own family, whatever passion they pursued, she was always there, encouraging them and celebrating every accomplishment with pride.
Faith and family were the cornerstones of Rosie’s life. It is fitting that she entered eternal rest on the Lord's Day, Sunday, a reflection of the deep faith that guided her throughout her life. While her family grieves the loss of her physical presence, they find comfort in knowing that her love remains with them still: in every cherished memory, every lesson she taught, every laugh she shared, and every life she touched. She was deeply loved, and her legacy of faith, strength, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scott Miles, Anthony Salinas, Drew Powers, Adam Salinas, Andrew Salinas, and George Rodriguez.
