

Roy entered the United States Air Force in 1952 and retired as a Colonel with 26 and a half years of continuous service. While on active duty he served as a navigator, an ROTC instructor and a staff officer. Following his retirement from the military he was employed as a real estate sales manager and was employed with the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
He obtained both graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Utah, and played baseball, basketball and tennis for Amarillo Junior College before joining the Air Force.
Roy's military decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and several other awards and decorations.
He is survived by three sons and their families: son, Roman Burnett and his wife, Sylvia of San Antonio, son, Tyler Burnett and his wife, Maggie and their children, Emily and Price of San Antonio and son, Todd Burnett of Cibolo; brother, Harold Burnett of Albuquerque, NM; and sister, Janie Vincent of Indianapolis. Roy will always be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather, a philanthropist, a hard worker, an effective mentor and an avid churchgoer.
