He attended Robert E. Lee and then Churchill High School, where he graduated. He met the love of his life in 10th grade at Robert E. Lee, and they were married in May of 1968, for 55 years. Throughout their life together, Roy worked at Southwestern Bell for more than 15 years before owning and operating a parking lot striping company. He ran his business for 40 years before retiring a few years ago.
Roy was a big UT sports fan, rooted for Astros baseball, and made time for the San Antonio Rodeo. He enjoyed fishing at Rockport and other places and loved the King Ranch, so much so that he was the first owner of the King Ranch Truck in Texas. Roy was an avid watcher of TV Westerns, and his all-time favorite was John “The Duke” Wayne because “that was the code of the West”. Watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports was a favorite pastime.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Bea and William Locke; brother, Wayne Locke; and grandchildren, Rayley Kocurek and Josh Fowler.
