

United States Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Roy Martin Kelsey passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in Corpus Christi, TX, at the age of 72, with his family at the bedside. He was born April 13, 1951, in San Antonio, TX, to Charles W. and Mabel Lee Kelsey.
Roy had a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy, serving his country with dedication and honor for over 24 years. Throughout his service, he received numerous awards and decorations, including two Navy Commendation Medals, four Navy Achievement Medals, the Navy Expeditionary Medal, four Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Expert Navy Pistol Medal, and five Good Conduct Awards.
Roy was an avid Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and Jimmy Buffet fan and greatly enjoyed hating on the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a passion for fishing and spent his later years enjoying the views of the water and the birds from his back patio, “living the dream!”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Kelsey; his daughter Elizabeth “Libby” Kelsey; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Adrian Aguirri; his daughter and son-in-law, Rachelle and Chris Dorn; his 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, and his grand-dog Scout.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
