Royal W. King, Jr.

Royal King was as regal as his name and larger than life itself. He died peacefully from age related complications at the age of 97 on February 20, 2022 in his home with his two loving grandsons by his side. He is survived by his adoring wife, Bette King, his daughter, Karyn Munford, his son, Royal (Trey) King III and his two grandsons, Christopher and Kenny. He was born January 14,1925 in San Antonio. His mother and father moved to Mexico City where along with his sister, he spent the first eight years of his life and learned to speak Spanish fluently. They moved back to San Antonio where he attended Jefferson High School. He graduated from the University of Texas and received his law degree from St Marys Law School. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He served in the Pacific during World War II. As a licensed attorney, he worked in the oil and banking industries. With his big personality, he was adored by friends and family alike and was an excellent golfer.

He will be missed dearly but will never be absent from our hearts and memories.

To limit COVID exposure, the family will have a private ceremony with immediate family. The family would greatly appreciate any fond memories of Royal to be shared on this obituary page. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in his memory.
