

Ruben M. Galindo, born January 5, 1944, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ruben Galindo Sr. and Estolia Chavez Galindo, and his dear grandson, Matthew James Galindo.
Ruben is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Eva Galindo, his two children, Dennis Galindo (Laura Galindo) and Denise Gonzalez (Eduardo Gonzalez), and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacquelyn, Madelynne, Nathaniel, Hailey, and Matthew.
Ruben’s greatest passion was his love for family, always putting them first and nurturing those close to him with warmth and kindness. He believed deeply in the power of faith and prayer, finding strength in his unwavering devotion to God. His service to both his faith and his country was a testament to his dedication, having proudly served in the U.S. Army, Texas National Guard, and Civil Service. He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, The Order of Alhambra, Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Cordi Marian Sisters, and most recently, St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church.
Ruben's generosity and kindness knew no bounds. He was a man who never saw a stranger, always ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a solution to a problem. His deep belief in the importance of treating others with respect and love was evident in everything he did. Ruben lived by the principle that kindness begets kindness, and he exemplified this every day through his actions and words.
In remembering Ruben, let us carry forward his legacy of love for family, devotion to faith, and the importance of remaining kind to one another. He will be missed deeply, but his spirit of generosity, compassion, and faith will continue to guide all who knew him.
A visitation for Ruben will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238 with a rosary at 7:00 PM . A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, San Antonio, TX 78253 with interment to follow at 1:15 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
