Ruben M. Hernandez Sr. was called home to be with the Lord, on February 5, 2014 at the age of 92. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Carmen A. Hernandez, his son Joseph Hernandez and his daughter Mary Moreno. He was a member of the VFW Post 8936 and a World War II Veteran. He was a Purple Heart and Combat Badge recipient and also enjoyed playing pool. Ruben Sr. is survived by his loving children; Maria Guadalupe Lopez (Raul), Josefina Hernandez (Oscar), Ruben Hernandez Jr. (Maria), Michael Angelo Hernandez (Sabra), Adrian Patino (Angela) numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for a 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with interment to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
