Ruby T. Garcia

Mary Ruby Talamantez Garcia was born in Southton, TX on April 13th, 1932. She came from two Texas pioneering families, including from the Canary Islands, West Virginia, and Spain. In her younger years, she enjoyed being an active member in community, civic, and church activities. Ruby was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was full of life, funny, caring, and always spoke her mind. The best meals, soups, pies, and birthday cakes were homemade in her kitchen from scratch. Dressing to impress she enjoyed dancing and singing at any family gathering. Her top priority was her family who could “do no wrong” she liked to say. She joined our Heavenly Father on November 21st, 2020 and was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Teresa Talamantez; her brother, Oscar "Sonny" Talamantez; and her husband, Robert Garcia, Sr.

Ruby leaves behind three children: Robert Garcia Jr., Ruth Garcia, and Raymond Garcia (daughter-in-law Procura Garcia). Six grandchildren: Valerie Carrillo, Stephanie Samudio, Rebecca Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Andrew Garcia, and Gina Maldonado. Nine great-grandchildren and her baby sister, Agnes Carroll. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough.
