Ruby Nell Ojeda

Ruby was born in Bastrop, Louisiana to Elizabeth and Ep Norsworthy on August 3, 1938. She married Joe Ojeda on July 17, 1954 in San Francisco, California and were married for 70 years. For over 30 years she served others through her own catering business. As an Air Force wife, she and Joe travelled and lived in many different states and in Japan. Ruby loved to travel, especially by motorcycle, and camping. She was a member of Oak Hills Church and especially enjoyed the Tuesday morning Ladies Bible Study. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies including oil painting, drawing, crochet, reading and, of course, cooking and baking. A favorite evening pastime was playing dominoes and card games.

Ruby is preceded in death by her sisters, Ida Parker, Marie Higginbotham and Edith Dunn.

Ruby is survived by her husband Joe Ojeda, their children and spouses Rhonda and Steve Slaten, Rick and Arienne Ojeda, Steve Ojeda, and Bob and Kym Ojeda, her sister Bonnie Chronister and her brother Lou Norsworthy. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas on June 6, 2025 at 5:00 PM with Philip Vick officiating.
