

Rudy Talamantez Gomez Jr., born on February 14, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on April 27, 2026, in his hometown of San Antonio. He was born to Rudy Talamantez Gomez and Mary Martinez Gomez.
Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Talamantez Gomez; his aunt, Alice Gomez; his grandparents, Eddie Gomez and Josefa Talamantez Gomez; and his maternal grandparents, Juaquin Martinez and Carolina Escobedo Martinez.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Mary Martinez Gomez; his sister, Norma Diaz and her husband Frankie; his niece, Linda Donahue and her husband Sean; his nephew, Frank Diaz and his wife Jennifer; and his great-niece and great-nephew, Isabella Diaz and Asher Diaz.
Rudy was a proud graduate of Thomas Edison High School and continued his education at San Antonio College and Galen College of Nursing. During his high school years, he served as Drum Major, showcasing his leadership and passion for music.
A gifted performer, Rudy shared his love of Flamenco dance across the United States, performing with Teresa, Champion Dance Academy, and Los Flamenco De San Antonio. He was also musically talented, with a deep appreciation for playing both the piano and the saxophone.
Rudy had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. He loved decorating cascarones for San Antonio Fiesta and Easter, enjoyed traveling with his mother and late aunt Alice, and found joy in cooking and baking for his family and friends. He also had an entrepreneurial side, dabbling in selling items on eBay, and he enjoyed gambling as one of his favorite pastimes.
Rudy will be remembered for his creativity, warmth, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his talents, humor, and generous spirit.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238, on May 18, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Rosary starting at 6:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78238, USA, on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH 10 West, San Antonio, Texas 78201, on May 19, 2026, at 11:30 am.
