November 28, 1959 – March 7, 2018
Jesus Rodolfo O’Con, better known as Rudy, went to be with our Lord on March 7, 2018, after a two year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends until the very end.
Rudy was born November 28, 1959, to Ricardo and Noema O’Con. He attended St. Paul’s and Antonian High School where he made lifelong friends. Always one to throw a party, he lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. His happiest moments were spent with his family and friends either watching a Spurs game or rooting on the Dallas Cowboys, usually while barbecuing. When he wasn’t doing that, you could find him outdoors tending to his favorite plants or near the water with a cold beer. He was a loving and generous husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed.
Rudy is preceded in death by his mother, Noema, and there is no doubt that she was waiting for him with open arms. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Cindy; children, Jessica Gonzales (Christopher), Amber Salame (Thomas), Ryan O’Con (Michelle), and Justin O’Con (Esther); father, Ricardo O’Con, Sr.; siblings, Ricardo O’Con, Jr. (Carol), Audrey Pratt (Wayne), Ronald O’Con (Becky), and Aissa Tristan (Mike). He also leaves behind three step‐sons, Mario Cortes (Sarah), Marc Cortes, and Michal Cortes (Janeth); grandchildren, Jacob, Thomas, Devin, Ethan, Gavin, Rhianna, Nathaniel, Alexa, Mark, Isaiah, Nevaeh, Presley, and Sofie; 3 great‐grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Vitas Hospice, especially Shar, for their loving care and support, his doctors, and the numerous family and friends who have offered their support and condolences.
A memorial service will be held on March 24, 2018, at 2:00pm. Afterwards, family and friends are invited to celebrate Rudy’s life at Paul’s Pizza Roma (5137 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229).

I remember some of the crazy, but fun stuff some of the boys in our class did throughout our time at St. Paul's. Whenever I was around Rudy there was always a chance a teacher or student was going to be pranked. He was so happy-go-lucky and confident. I never saw or talked to him after we graduated from St. Paul's. He went to Antonian HS, and I went to Central Catholic HS. I will always remember him as a 14 year old young man full of mischief, life and hope. He'll never be forgotten. God Bless you Rudy!!

My heart breaks for all of the O'Con family. Rudy was such a great friend to me as we were growing up together in school. He always had an infectious smile and was always so positive and friendly. He never changed and always remained the same wonderful person. May Rudy continue on his journey in Heaven, as of angel of God. I pray for comfort for the family.
