Russell was born in San Antonio to Clyde and Grace Drumgoole Evans. One of nine children, he had eight siblings. There were four brothers: George Tiny, Robert, Dan, and Ralph Buck, and four sisters: Helen Eanes, Hadie Kleinpeter, Lucy Marren, and Gladis Wilke.
He was married to Elsye May Hatchell for 56 years, and they had two children together: David Lee Evans, and Julie Fay Evans Dutton. His three grandsons are: Evan Ray Brock, Colton Ross Dutton, and Russell Lee Evans. His only great grand child was born to his grandson Russell Evans a year ago, his name is: Cameron Lee Evans.
Russell Evans proudly served in the US Air Corp during World War II.
When he returned home to San Antonio, he started his own plumbing business which he proudly worked for over 35 years.
Russell was kind, brave, and devoted to his family and friends. A kinder spirit you will never find.
