

Russell Dean Loyd, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, May 17th, in San Antonio, after a long struggle with recurrent Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He fought valiantly to the end and was an inspiration to us all. Russ (Rusty) was born on February 15, 1961, in Phillipsburg, Kansas to parents Lucille Loyd and Max Lemmons. He was united in marriage to Janna Morgan on January 20, 1989.
Russ is survived by his wife; Janna, daughters; Amy Humphrey and Lance, of San Antonio, TX, Melissa Griffith of Spring Hill, KS, and Cassie Mena and Rick, of Marion, TX, stepson; Andrew Morgan, of Mobile, AL, five granddaughters; Delilah and Anikah Morgan, Melody and Adalie Mena, and Bentley Humphrey, two grandsons; Zane Condrin and Jack Humphrey, siblings; Roxie Kelly and Roger, of Bellevue, NE, Rick Anglin and Dann, of Azle, TX, Robbyn Anglin and Madonna, of Salina, KS, Ronnie Anglin and Pam, of Darien, GA, Dee Teinert of Wichita, KS, and Patrick Lemmons, of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by Aunt Dorothye Bell and Steve, of Colorado Springs, CO, plus other aunts, uncles, nephews and a niece.
During his teenage years, Rusty worked construction in Colorado and Texas and developed a love for Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. He was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Russ enjoyed his children and grandchildren and took every opportunity to spend time with them, frequently attending their sports activities.
Russ attended Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, Kansas. In 1979, he received an Associates Degree in Accounting and Finance from Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, Kansas. He also received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Administration in 1981 from Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was a nursing home administrator in Kansas and Texas before founding his own insurance and retirement planning firm, Loyd Agency Inc., in 1994. As a licensed agent with extensive experience in General Life, Annuities, and Health Insurance, Russ worked closely with clients, developing a personal relationship with many as he helped them plan for their future. He continued this work until his death.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Rick Anglin, infant nephews, Bradley and Brian Anglin, nephew, Chris Kelly, and infant granddaughter Farrah Morgan.
