Russell graduated from Tech High School, class of 1945, and spent 46 years in the wholesale air conditioning and heating parts business. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Olive M. and John H. Pittman; and brothers, Homer and Warren Pittman, and sister, Frances Coleman. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy M. (Witten) Pittman; daughter, Debbie Holder (Perry Holder); son, Gary Pittman (Larissa Pittman); sister, Bina Mae English, and grandchildren, Mindy Holder, Tyler Holder, and Brittany Pittman and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
