

Ruth Estelle Kele Bellamah, age 82, of Corpus Christi, TX. passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2006. Born on July 27, 1923 in Breckenridge, TX, she is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Sallie Williams Kele; beloved spouse, Joseph L. Bellamah; brother, Max H. Kele and sister, Mildred Lamke.
Ruth earned her B.A. degree from Sul Ross State University and M.A. from Texas A & I University-Kingsville. In 1945, she married Joseph L. Bellamah and had residences in Weslaco, Alpine, Kingsville and San Antonio, TX. She worked at City Hall in Alpine and taught elementary and middle school remedial reading in Kingsville and San Antonio.
She was a member of the Kingsville Woman's Club, American Association of University Women and the Texas State Teachers Association. She also served as a docent at the San Antonio Zoo. She was an excellent cook, her specialty was Arabic food excellent seamstress and was always the consummate hostess.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeraldine Copeland and husband, Don of San Antonio, TX; Dianne Lang of Corpus Christi and Eileen Taylor of Fairfield, CT; grandchildren, Deren Bushala of San Antonio, Joy Hermansen of Houston, Paige Hermansen of Austin, Ford and Rex Hermansen of Corpus Christi; Drew, Alexa, Kina and Gray Taylor of Fairfield, CT and sister, Faye Deputy of Ft. Wayne, IN.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the 2nd and 4th floor staff at Holmgreen Center, her providers Elida, Lupe, Eva and Elma and the staff of Odyssey Hospice.
