Ruth was a popular teacher that spent over 70 years in the classroom. Her career started in a one room school house at the age of 17. Her early career was spent in small schools in South Texas. When she came to San Antonio she taught in the Hot Wells I.S.D. She ended her career at Brackenridge High School where she was a senior English Teacher.
Ruth was an avid Spurs fan trying never to miss a game, and was once featured on the cover of the Spurs' Score Magazine.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Graham Harris Rudwick and husband, Tommy Rudwick; son, Graham "Buzz" Harris and wife, Joy; 4 grandchildren, Thomas W. Rudwick III and wife, Tish, Cara Abazari and husband, Ali, Adam Harris and wife, Ellie, and April Harris Beard and husband, Aaron; 3 great grandchildren, Crispina Harris, Andrei Abazari, and Natalia Rudwick; sister, Myrtle Maytum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
