A native of San Antonio she lived in San Antonio her entire life.
Ruth worked for Western Union for many years and later retired from Cummins Sales and Service in 1996.
She was a member of Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Ruth served two terms as an Elder and had been active in circle and prayer groups and many other church committees and activities.
She was devoted to her two grandchildren in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ruth enjoyed gardening and her pets and loved creating beauty through her crafts.
She is survived by her son, David N. Keene, Jr. and wife Lisa of Phoenix, grandchildren, Andrew David and Catherine Grace; brother and sister-in-law, J. P. Brown, Jr. and Norma; nephew, Dr. Richard Brown and family; dearest cousin, Myrtle Riley; and numerous other cousins, loving supportive neighbors and friends.
