

Ruth Quiroz of San Antonio left for her eternal rest on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Born September 6, 1924 to Guillermo Ramirez and Martina Alameda. Ruth was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. Ruth cherished her time with her family. Her grandsons were her pride and joy. Later in life Ruth's great-granddaughter, Ella was born and brought more happiness into her life than anyone could have imagined. Ruth retired from San Antonio City Employees Federal Credit Union as a Loan Officer after multiple years of service. She was a committed Catholic attending church every Sunday morning with her husband until her health began to fail. She was always a loving and giving person to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rudy; two sisters, Adela Perez and Martha Saenz.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ramon G. Quiroz; daughter, Linda Q. Solis and fiance, Richard Gawlik; grandsons, Stephen Barrett Solis, Christopher Neil Solis and Andrew Jay Solis; one great-granddaughter, Ella Patricia Connolly-Solis; ex son-in-law, Ruben J. Solis; sisters, Rosa Guajardo and Mary Prado; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses at Odyssey Hospice for the special care and dedication they extended to her along with Dr. Antonio Santillan-Gomez for the gentle care and understanding he showed towards her during her health battle. To the numerous family and friends that visited and stayed vigil with her as she began her journey home. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will held on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
