Ruth Lorraine Rutherford

Ruth Lorraine Rutherford, age 78, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born December 6, 1943 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anita Schoenborn and William C. Bloch, but spent most of her life in California.Ruth moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962 and lived in Northern California on and off for 30 years while raising her two sons, working, and pursuing her passionate interest in learning and exploration. In 1974, she moved to the Sacramento area where she later met her soulmate Von Manske and they married in 1980. Ruth fulfilled one of her lifetime goals of pursuing a legal degree and graduated in 1991 from the University of Northern California School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree. As a successful business woman, she ran her title consulting business for over 30 years and was well respected and recognized by her peers for her capabilities, strength, and professionalism in an industry that traditionally boasts few women. In 1992 she relocated to Southern California where she continued to work, play, and add to her circle of friends. In 2021, true to her adventurous nature, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to family and experience a new lifestyle.Ruth will be remembered for her independent spirit, infectious laugh, and vivacious personality. She had a genuine interest in people and with an outgoing personality made friends wherever she went. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who embraced every moment with her family, especially her five grandchildren. She had an abundance of love for all living creatures which led to fostering kittens and giving many of them a permanent loving home with her.Ruth enjoyed a lifetime of travel and sports including bowling, golf, and tennis where she participated socially as well as competitively. Her hobbies included motorcycle riding, camping, fishing, reading, games, puzzling, sewing and crafting. Her family enjoyed and were grateful recipients of many of her creations.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Von Manske. Ruth is survived by her sons, Garrett Endres and wife Jeanine of San Antonio, Texas and Darrell Endres and wife Karen of Scotts Valley, California; grandchildren, Erin, Valerie, Zachary, Natalie and Nicholas; sister, Mary Burtch; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held on Monday July 25, 2022 at 10am at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, California with the burial following at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland California.
