Ruth was born September 25, 1926 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. She is survived by her sister, Violet Allen of Danville, VA; her nephew, Ronald Allen of Danville, VA. and her niece, Judy Allen of Raleigh, N.C.
Ruth was married to "the love of her life" Harold G. Woods who predeceased her in 1993.
She was a member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church. She retired from Fort Sam Houston as Comptroller and loved to spend her spare time writing stories, articles, and poetry.
