She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John William Ritson whom she met in the art program at Kingston Upon Thames.
Both Sadie and John were veterans of World War 11. She served in the British Land Army and later became a Sergeant in the Women's Auxiliary Service.
They immigrated to the United States with two young children in 1953. Sadie was passionate about art and instilled in all her children a lifelong love of creativity and learning.
She is survived by her five children; Philip Ritson, Sara Ritson Griffith, Stephen Ritson, Jonathan Ritson and Kate Ritson. In addition she has nine grandchildren: Stephanie and Casey Ritson, Janeen and Amy Ritson, Adam, Melissa and Brian Griffith and Jonathan and Julianna Ritson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
