Sally Paine Gorham

Sally Paine Thompson Gorham entered the presence of the Lord on February 24, 2023. Sally was born on April 27, 1949, to Josephine and Andrew Thompson in San Antonio, TX. She attended Alamo Heights High School and the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Sally made many loyal and lifelong friends at Alamo Heights and UT who brought her much joy through the years. Following college, Sally married and became a devoted mother to two children, Tom and Amy. Throughout her life, Sally never met a stranger and took a keen and sincere interest in the lives of others. Sally was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and found peace in her faith, which made a lasting and significant impression on her children and those around her. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Houston Thompson and Andrew Zilker Thompson. She is survived by her children Andrew Thompson “Tom” Gorham, Amy Gorham Case (Chad); grandchildren, Mary, Andrew and George; sisters Ann Thompson Coiner, Lucy Thompson Hall, and Josie Thompson Shaw (Ted); cousin, Reagan Houston IV (Tricia); and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally’s extended “Tommy Houston” family was a great source of happiness and support throughout the years. The Family would like to thank Dr. Chris Kopecky and the staff at Franklin Park Alamo Heights for their loving and steadfast care.

A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, TX where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
