Salvador F. Sanchez, age 96, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2012 in New Braunfels, TX. He was born on December 24, 1915 in San Antonio, TX to Felix & Francisca Sanchez. He retired from the U.S. Army serving in WWII, Korean & Vietnam Wars and receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze & Silver Star Medals. He later retired from from Civil Service at Ft. Sam Houston.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998, Helaine F. Sanchez.
Mr. Sanchez is survived by his daughters, Ellen F. Sanchez of Dallas, TX and Stephanie A. Dickens & husband Douglas of Canyon Lake, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 followed by a 12 noon Funeral Service at Sunset Funeral Chapel. A private interment will take place at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the No Kill Shelter at Canyon Lake (CLASS), the American Diabetes Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or the American Lung Association.
