

He was born on August 6, 1949 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Lillian and Sam Sledge. Brad was married to his best friend, Chrissy Trojack Sledge, for 35 years and they have one son, Matthew. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1972.
Brad was in the banking business for over 40 years. He served as Senior Vice President of Correspondent Banking for Frost National Bank, President of Colonial Frost Bank, President of Union National Bank of Texas (San Antonio) and President of Union National Bank of Texas (Laredo). Brad was also a community servant. One of his many honors was serving as Chairman of the Board for the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.
He sang, played the guitar, played the piano and played practical jokes. Brad and Chrissy were famous for their karaoke parties. Matthew inherited his gift and love for music. He had the best sense of humor and his greatest joy was to make people laugh. Brad had an intense loyalty to family and friends and helped them succeed and feel good about themselves. He'll be remembered for his indomitable spirit and positive attitude in living with Parkinson's, for his heart of gold, wit and generosity. His spirit is now free, never again to be shackled. Brad will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
Brad's family will be forever grateful for the gift of love and care that Mary Escalante and Nora Montez gave to Brad. Thank you dear friends and family for your prayers and support. We are grateful to God for a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Sam Sledge and his brother-in-law, George Trojack. Matthew 25:21-"Well done, good and faithful servant.Enter into the joy of your Lord."
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Chrissy Sledge of San Antonio; son, Matthew Sledge of San Antonio; his sisters, Sherri Sledge Pulliam and husband, Paul of Dallas and Sally Sledge of Ft. Worth; brother, Steve Sledge of Dallas; sister-in-law, Toney Trojack Boswell of Austin and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
