Sandra Joan Gates

Sand was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on July 23, 1947 to Harold and Doris Becker.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, David Gates. She is survived by her children, Derek Gates and wife Stacie Freasier, and Bradley Gates and wife Alison Gates; brothers, Harold Becker, Jr. and Richard Becker; and sisters, Diane Rossi and Toni Johnson.

Sand was a dedicated employee of the United States federal government during a span of more than 30 years.

A devoted mother and wife, Sand often spoke of fond memories of her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading, fine wine, and watching the sun set over the Texas hills with her husband.

Forever a fighter, Sand battled her cancer without complaint and always had a positive attitude. We have many great memories of Sand as a faithful and loving wife, dedicated mother, sister, aunt, and wonderful friend. She will be sadly missed.
