

Sandra (Sandy), Stewart Holzmann, age 72 of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was born to the late Roy Edward Stewart and Jewell West Stewart on September 12, 1945, in Blanco, Texas.
After graduating from High School in South Carolina, she moved to San Antonio, Texas a few years later where she received a Business Degree in Marketing at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA).
Sandy later moved to Dallas, Texas, where she met her husband in 1989. She married Richard Arthur Holzmann on April 13, 1991 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas, where she and her husband became members and joined the church choir. Her successful business career included working as a Project Manager in the Financial and Telecom Industry in the Dallas area.
In 2006, Sandy and her husband moved back to San Antonio where they retired and became members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas, just north of San Antonio. Family and friends were always Sandy's passion and delight. She enjoyed being a member of the church senior group "Faithful Friends" where she met many wonderful friends. She also enjoyed the fact that her husband became a singing member of The San Antonio Liederkranz German Singing Club. It was here where she found more friends by joining "Wives of the Ladies Liederkranz."
Sandy loved sailing especially when trips were taken to the Caribbean Islands. She also enjoyed vacations to Europe, Canada and our own USA. Amongst some of Sandy's favorite interests included Gardening, Singing, Movies and going to the beach. Most importantly, she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and family.
Sandy is survived by her husband Rick of 26 years, daughter Dana Taylor, husband Charles, grandchildren Landon, Drew and Grace Taylor all of Flower Mound, TX, stepchildren Richard C. Holzmann (Jeannadele) Vienna, VA, Nicole Bryant (Coy) Durango, CO, step grandchildren Evelyn and Elisabeth Holzmann, Emma, Maddox and Price Bryant, brothers Wallace Stewart (Sonya) Columbia, SC, Henry Stewart (Randi) Fort Worth, TX, sister Pamela Stewart Columbia, SC. Her loss leaves behind many other relatives and friends whose lives were deeply touched by her loving friendliness, kindness, companionship and warm smile.
The family would like to especially extend their thanks to Lisa Shannon, Executive Director and Norma Garza, Hospice Case Manager and all caregivers at Brookdale Nacogdoches Alzheimer and Dementia Care, for their special gentle and loving care they gave to Sandy.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Porter Loring Mortuary North along with Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (OLPH). All Funeral Services will be conducted at the church on Monday, January 8, 2018. Services begin with a Rosary Service at 9:30 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 am celebrated by Rev. Eric J. Ritter, Pastor. Interment will take place at the OLPH Cemetery#2 (on the church grounds), followed by a reception at the church Pastoral Center.
