Sandra M. Martinez

Sandra M. Martinez, age 75, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 in San Antonio. She was born on September 15, 1945 in San Antonio, TX to San Juana Hernandez and Tomas Mandujano. She has always been there for my mother as a guardian and as a light. She was a woman of independence, sought to make her life and her childrens' lives better by working hard and pursuing better things. She graduated from San Antonio College with an associates degree in Commercial Floristry. She spent most of her life creating works of art and beauty, with which she made the lives of many people much happier and brighter. She was loved by every person who crossed paths with her. From the children she birthed, to the friends she made throughout her life, she greeted them with kindness and love. She has always been the one to light up a room, if it was either with her smile or the bright clothes and jewelry she wore. She was always a woman that cared for her appearance, never leaving the home without a fresh face of makeup and a matching mumu to go with it. She was known by many names: ‘Santa’, ‘Shopper’, ‘Grandma’, and ‘Memo’. She was preceded in death by her father, Tomas Mandujano and mother, San Juana Hernandez. Sandra is survived by daughter, Dalia Saunders (Earnest); son, Refugio Martinez (Sandra); daughter, Angelica Moreno (Raul).
