Sandra brought much joy to the people who knew her. Her smile and sheer excitement when she saw you lit up a room and all the lives she touched.
In her younger years, she participated in the local and state level Special Olympics, winning numerous events, trophies, and ribbons for her accomplishments. She loved stuffed animals and shopping. Hamburgers and fries with Coca Cola were her favorite meal.
She was also an avid Country and Western music fan. She knew the lyrics from many songs, often identifying the song once the first note was played. She collected CDs from various artists and knew what song was on each CD.
Sandra is survived by her mother, Anita Tschirhart, brother Michael Tschirhart (Christi), sister Julie Braden (Paul), sister Carol Reyes (Andy) and 14 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Tschirhart and grandmothers, Ella Bader, and Molly Poerner.
The family would like to thank the care givers at Delta Grove and ResCare for taking care of Sandra the last 2 years as well as the doctors and staff in the Methodist Hospitals who have taken care of Sandra during the last 2 months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Arc of San Antonio, St. Vincent de Paul – San Antonio, Special Olympics, or the charity of your choice.
