Sandra Marie Wickley

She is reunited in death with parents Narciso and Cuca Martinez, and her brother Narciso Martinez Jr. in heaven.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years Robert Wickley, and their five children, Melanie Child, Jeffrey Wickley, Aaron Wickley, Erica Villareal, and Adam Wickley, along with 11 grandchildren, Tyler Child, Ryan Child, Alyssa Child, Malikai Wickley, Kylie Wickley, Narciso Wickley, Gabriel Wickley, Joshua Wickley, Daniel Wickley, Sofia Villareal, and Zoey Villareal; sister, Emily Estrada; brothers, Tom Martinez and Paul Martinez.

Sandy was born on March 6, 1949 in San Bernardino, CA to Narciso and Cuca Martinez. She was raised in San Bernardino, CA and Gallup, NM. She was married to Air Force photographer Robert (Bob) Wickley July 17, 1971 and began her family. During the 26 years as an Air Force military spouse she lived in Japan, New York, Italy, Ohio, California, and San Antonio. She loved to travel with her family to learn and experience the vast cultures and history of the world.

Sandy's love of learning lead to a Bachelors degree from California State University San Bernardino and a master's degree in education from University of Southern California. She worked as an elementary school teacher before placing her career on hold to raise her 5 children. She cherished family above all. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always more concerned about others happiness and wellbeing above her own. Her genuine love and kindness inspired others.

Viewing will be held Monday, February 2, 2015, from 6-8pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
