

Sandra Longoria Yturria, 71, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in San Antonio, Texas. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through her many valiant battles with cancer.
Sandra was born on September 13, 1944 in Houston, Texas. She was adopted by her loving parents, Mildred and Shelby Longoria and was raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. She attended Incarnate Word Academy in Brownsville, Texas and in 1963 she graduated from Saint Mary's Hall in San Antonio, Texas. After graduation, she attended Finch College in New York City.
She met her soul mate, Fausto, on a chance encounter at her parents' home in Matamoros, Mexico. They were married on June 28, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Brownsville, Texas.
Equally comfortable swinging a shotgun at a rising clay or hosting an elegant dinner party, Sandra was known for her ease of conversation and sweet demeanor amongst friends and at times total strangers. She touched the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her always present smile, sweet laugh, and lively humor, will never be forgotten.
Sandra enjoyed traveling the world with her husband by her side. Her love of travel and exquisite sense of fashion was displayed in her homes.
She was a member of the San Antonio Country Club, Club Giraud, The Argyle, Shikar Safari Club International, and Sacred Heart Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Shelby Theriot Yturria, her parents, Mildred and Shelby Longoria, and her brother, Tomas Longoria. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Fausto Yturria, Jr., daughter, Cassandra Wolfe (Brad), and son Fausto Yturria, III, three grandchildren: Samantha Shelby Wolfe, Jason Thomas Wolfe, and Scott Wolfe.
Sandra's family would like to give special thanks to her physicians: Dr. Fernando Lopez, Dr. Joseph D. McCracken and Dr. Harold "Rusty" Felter Jr.
A recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Brownsville, Texas. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a private family burial.
Serving as Pallbearers: Mr. Ray Smith, Mr. Jason E. Wolfe, Mr. Danny Butler, Mr. Gerardo Rodriguez, Mr. Mike Garcia and Mr. David Garza.

Mr. Taylor Blanton, Dr. Andrew Burgess, Mr. Carlos Sancho, Dr. Martin Garcia and Mr. Richard Butler.
