

Santiago was a proud graduate of Edgewood High School, class of 1963, and enlisted in the Army shortly after graduation. He honorably served as an Army veteran and was a member of the Texas National Guard. For 25 years, he dedicated his career to supporting the mission at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.
In his youth, Santiago was the president of the Undertaker Car Club, where he fostered a love for classic cars and camaraderie. He had a deep appreciation for classic Tejano music, which brought joy to his life and those around him.
Santiago is survived by his beloved sons, Alejandro “Alex” Aguirre (Cristina) and Santiago “Jimmy” Aguirre, Jr.; grandson Tristan Aguirre; step-granddaughter Amanda Garza; ex-wife Erlinda “Herlinda”; brothers Armando Olguin (Malena), Alex Aguirre (Isela), Henry Aguirre (Diana), Bobby Aguirre (Lourdes), and Jimmy Aguirre (Leticia); sisters Maria Morales, Hortencia Rodriguez (Pedro) and Sandra Nelson (Ron); niece Elsa Zepeda and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Magdalena Olguin; father, Santiago Aguirre; step-father, Ned Olguin; sister, Josefina Hernandez; brother Jesus Aguirre; and daughter-in-law Deborah Aguirre.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing from 5-7 p.m. on March 5th at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Avenue, followed by a rosary.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 1206 El Paso Street, on March 6th at 10 a.m., followed by a reception at the church hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A procession to Fort Sam Houston Cemetery will depart at 12:30 p.m., with interment to follow at 1:15 p.m.
Santiago will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and his love for his community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
