What a wonderful little boy, always smiling and good natured.  Smart as he could be and when we  "had school", got his catechism book to study.

i miss u babybrother its me jose i know u told me not to get tattoos on my face but i got your name on my face everyday i wake up and look at my self and always see it i miss u come back already please its not the same without u i miss our family i love u and im sorry for the path i took in life  but ima change my ways for u remember i promised u well ima keep that promise watch over me and my babys watch over jose Jr and Zane ur the best brother i ever had u wanted right for me i remember u told me not to go back to juvenile that u want me out im sorry i went to prison but im out and im a change man i love u baby bro wit my heart i wish i can give u one more hug and tell u what been going on in life its crazy out here and im scared bc i need advice from u little bro because u always told me right from wrong i love u santiago each time i think about u i cry i know u dont want me to cry but baby bro i miss u so much tell my godmother and godfather hi and i miss them i miss when she cooks for me and i miss when he play his guitar i miss the martinez family the family not the same since yall left our lifes but yall never left our hearts i love yall

What a special child Santiago was.  He loved to learn and find out about new things.  He was also very interested in God and Santiago's love of God was evident.  When his little brother Mateo  and I were working on pre-school things, Santiago went into his room and got his book to study for his first communion.  He was really special and the family has chosen a beautiful way to honor him with the yearly toy drive they host for children in an orphanage in Mexico.  I am proud to have known him.

We met Santiago when he was a tiny boy and he was a joy in our lives. James (who passed in April) got a kick out of him and enjoyed being around him when visiting. Santiago was our neighborhood smile. I will never look at a globe or map of the US without thinking of Santiago.
