

Born on September 30, 1926, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sara was the daughter of Emitte E. White Sr. and Cline B. White. She was raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from Louisiana State University in 1948 with a bachelor's degree.
In 1950, Sara married the love of her life, Laverne C. Harper. Together they built a life centered on family and welcomed one son. Sara was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who also contributed significantly to the family business, Magnolia Nursery, where she worked in administration for more than 20 years.
Sara found joy in sewing, traveling, and spending time with those she loved. She will be remembered for her organization, dedication, and steady presence, as well as the care and commitment she showed to her family throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Laverne C. Harper; her parents, Emitte E. White Sr. and Cline B. White; her brother, Emitte E. White Jr. and his wife, Birdie; and her nephew, David White.
Sara is survived by her son, Charles Harper and his wife, Irma; her grandsons, Charles Harper Jr. and his wife, Vivien, and Robert Harper and his wife, Marcela; along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
Sara's life was marked by love, devotion to family, and quiet strength. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218, US, on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Burial will take place at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at a later date.
