Sarah Vada Watson Altman, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1937, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and quiet strength.
She was married to her devoted husband, Bill, for 47 wonderful years. Together they built a family grounded in warmth and compassion. She is survived by her three children: Frank “William” Southers (and his wife Chris), James Southers, and Carol Altman Mulholland (and her husband Sean).
Known as “Nana” to those she cherished most, Sarah is also lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren: Blaine, Timothy, and Brian Mulholland. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, she loved hearing from them and surrounding them with unconditional love.
Sarah was an extremely hard worker and proudly dedicated 36 years of her career to serving the City of San Antonio in various roles. Her commitment, professionalism, and warm spirit touched countless colleagues and community members throughout the decades.
When she wasn’t working, Sarah loved traveling with Bill, tending to her garden, enjoying lunch dates with friends, and she always looked forward to Sundays and going to church. These simple joys brought her peace, laughter, and a deep sense of connection with the people she loved.
Sarah’s legacy lives in the hearts of all who knew her—through her kindness, her laughter, and the deep love she shared with her family.
She will be forever missed and forever remembered.
