Sarah Gladys Chappell

Sarah Gladys Chappell was born on October 30, 1971, at the family home on Anderson AFB in Guam, the daughter of Edward and Shirley (Smith) Chappell. The youngest of four in a military family, Sarah attended school in various locations and received her GED in 1991 before going on to become a certified dental assistant. She was blessed with three children: Chad, Cierra, and Shyanne. They lived in Somerset, TX where she worked for several years as a bus driver and then maintenance specialist for Somerset ISD. She loved socializing with friends, spending time with her children, and attending family gatherings. After being diagnosed with lung cancer, Sarah moved to San Antonio to be closer to treatment facilities and worked as a pilot car driver. She loved being on the road for short periods of time and coming back to spend time with her family.

Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Gladys Smith; sister, Brenda Chappell; and grandson, Bentley. Those left to mourn her passing include her parents, Edward Chappell of Grand Prairie, TX and Shirley Chappell of San Antonio; her children, Chad Chappell, Cierra Chappell, and Shyanne Kosler all of San Antonio; grandchildren, Maci and Brently; brothers, Edward II of Odessa, TX and Aaron of Von Ormy, TX; great-niece, Ariah; great-nephew, Liam; as well as many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday, October 30, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary West.
