
She was born on July 18, 1917 to Archibald J. Fry and Margaret McKendree Fry in Miami, Arizona and grew up in Mexico and San Antonio. She was married to the late aviator Col. Robert M. Sheeks who served in World War II. During his long and distinguished career in the Air Force they had many interesting assignments throughout the United States including Alaska.
While her husband worked at the Pentagon she was a volunteer at the White House. They retired to San Antonio. She was an active member and volunteer at First Presbyterian Church and also volunteered at Christian Assistance Ministries for many years. She was a member of the Pan American Round Table and a circle at church. She loved people and "adopted" many into her family circle. She also loved her constant companion, her dog Woody. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Col. Sheeks.
She is survived by her son, Robert M. Sheeks II and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by the many close and dear friends who were an important part of her life.
Her family and friends extend their sincere appreciation to Pat Garrett and the staff at Madison Estates, especially Marie "Birdie" Jambers, Pam Powers and Alta Teal.
