

Sarah Helen Laney Talcott, age 90, was born in Locust Grove, Georgia on August 11, 1911. She went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2002 passing peacefully in her sleep.Sarah loved people and adventure of life. She was like a fountain overflowing with hospitality, service, graciousness, and goodness, was a rock of strength that loved to laugh and could see the humor around her. She delighted in life's simple pleasures like blowing kisses to the sunsets, sipping lemonade with friends on the back porch, and most cherished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend.Sarah moved to San Antonio in 1945 and actively served in an array of civic and community organization including Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, San Antonio Conservation Society, The Woman's Club, The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, The Chandler Center, The Daughters of the Nile, The Shrine Widows Club, The Gardenia and Musical Club, The Eden Home Handbell Choir, and others.She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James Carlton Talcott III, and her beloved daughter, Faye Talcott Porter. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jim and Barbara Talcott of Jacksonville, Florida, and Tom and Cathy Talcott of New Braunfels; four granddaughters, Jennifer and her husband, Matt DeWoody, Cristina Faye Talcott, Debbie Talcott, and Suzy Talcott; three great-granddaughters, Jessica Faye and Amanda Faye DeWoody and Alexis Talcott; her best friend for 50 years Reeva Livingston, her faithful companion, Scott Robbins, and a host of loving friends.Sarah will be deeply missed by all those who basked in the warmth of her character and were blessed by the depth of her love. Her legacy of strength and beauty will remain.
