JANUARY 24, 1972 - JANUARY 8, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Scott Carl Seidlitz, age 49, born
January 24, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Scott loved his country and proudly served her in several capacities: In the Navy aboard the USS Nimitz,
the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) from which
he retired.
Scott was known for his quick wit, his willingness to help others and for never knowing a stranger.
He loved his family, his country and his little pup, BEAST, and never let anyone forget it. Scott's other
loves were guns and shooting ranges, anything John Wayne, family gatherings and most important,
spoiling his grandchildren, that he was so proud of.
His most recognizable attribute, however, was his love of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his
chihuahua, BEAST, father, Kenneth Seidlitz (Marion), mother, Linda Taylor, his wife, Patricia Seidlitz,
children, Courtney and Shawn, grandchildren, Maddie, Lily and Lorenzo, brother Matt Fleming
(Kebrina), sister, Heather Mason (Damian), nieces, Eden-Grace, Elyse, Eliana, Dylann, Quinn, nephews,
Matthew and Avery, aunts, Cheryl Julian (George), Carla Montalvo (Frank), uncle, Kosty Randelov, and
cousins, Taylor, JC, Katherina, Aleka, Frankie and Logan.
A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2022, at Sunset Park Memorial and Funeral Home located
at 1701 Austin Hwy in San Antonio at 9:30 AM. Scott requested cremation and as a military veteran, his
ashes will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road at
11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the following: VFW Post 2059, 3202 Ackerman
Road, San Antonio, Texas 78219, the Animal Defense League, 11300 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio,
Texas 78217 or the Wounded Warrior Project, 12672 Silicon Drive, Suite 105, San Antonio, Texas 78249.
The brightest flames burn the quickest and though his flame has extinguished, his enduring love for
family and what he meant to us will always warm our hearts.
