Selina Escobar Weston passed away on October 25, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 14, 1969, in Alice, Texas, and raised in Corpus Christi, Selina lived life with faith, determination, a generous heart, and a spirited personality that could brighten any room.
Selina was the beloved daughter of Yolanda Perez Escobar and Oscar Rene Escobar, whose unwavering love and support were a constant throughout her life. She is also survived by her cherished son, Caleb Allan Weston; her sister, Monica Escobar Allen; her brother-in-law, Ryan Kenneth Allen; her niece, Ayla July Allen; and her loving partner, Spencer Hurst. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, clients, neighbors, and community members whose lives were richer for having known her.
A 1987 graduate of Mary Carroll High School, Selina went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1991. A natural entrepreneur and gifted salesperson, she had a remarkable ability to connect with people. Throughout her career, she sold everything from Bally's health club memberships to pagers and Nextel services, eventually owning three Sprint/Nextel stores. Whatever she was selling, Selina brought confidence, enthusiasm, and a personal touch that turned customers into lasting connections.
Later in life, Selina found a new calling in helping seniors navigate the complexities of Medicare. She became a Medicare insurance agent, driven by a desire to care for people who needed guidance and support. Her ambitions extended far beyond insurance. She dreamed of establishing a nonprofit organization to help seniors navigate life's many challenges with dignity, confidence, and compassion. Though an aggressive cancer diagnosis prevented her from realizing that dream, it never diminished her desire to make a difference.
A devoted Christian, Selina's faith guided the way she lived and treated others. She didn't simply speak of her beliefs; she put them into practice. She approached people with an open heart, offered help without hesitation, and carried a sense of optimism even through life's greatest challenges. She made friends wherever she went, drawing people in with her warmth, energy, and genuine interest in their lives. To know Selina was to know someone who made you feel welcome.
Above all, Selina treasured being a mother to her son, Caleb. She poured her heart into raising him, creating opportunities for adventure, learning, and meaningful experiences. She embraced motherhood as both a profound responsibility and one of life's greatest privileges, dedicating herself to helping Caleb grow into a caring, intelligent, strong, and compassionate man who will make a positive difference in the world. Her love for him was boundless.
Selina also knew how to enjoy life. She loved the beach, sunshine, beautiful flowers, and a good margarita. She loved bringing people together, hosting parties, planning excursions, and making memories along the way. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and believed those pleasures were even better when shared with others.
Selina lived her life with faith, courage, and perseverance, shining her light on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. As Scripture reminds us:
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
Selina leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and countless lives made better simply by knowing her. May we carry her light forward by following her example: living with courage, leading with kindness, persevering through challenges, and never missing an opportunity to brighten someone else's day.
