He was the third of ten children born on December 23, 1947, to Leitu and Taufi Pese in Sataoa, Samoa. In his early 20’s he migrated to the United States in search of opportunity. He made his way from California to Independence, Missouri, where he met and married the love of his life, Sueai Aumua. After three months of courtship they married on May 4, 1973. They remained in Independence, Missouri, where they built their life together and raised a family consisting of six children (Leitu Renee Laban, Rhonda Maselina Tuufuli, Rebecca Tausasala Pese, Tracy Sueai Pese, David Talaiasi Pese and Uriah Taufi Pese).
His primary occupation for over 30 years was a truck driver. He retired from this profession in 2012.
He was a loving husband and devoted father who lived a life of humility. His family was always at the forefront of everything in his life. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren who were his greatest pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings. He was preceded in death by five of his siblings and his two daughters, Rhonda Maselina Tuufuli and Tracy Sueai Pese.
Family Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Friday, May 21, 2021, from 5p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Saturday, May 22, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with burial to follow.
