Serena A. Kinzie

Serena was born to Edward Andrew Allgeier and Frances Emma Eckard, September 7, 1924, in Louisville, Kentucky. She married Robert Dorwin Kinzie in 1947 and they lived together in San Antonio, TX. Together they raised 2 daughters; Barbara A Kinzie and Rebecca J Cox.

She is survived by: Her daughter Barbara A Kinzie, her granddaughter Robin C Durham, (Edward J Durham), and her 3 great-granddaughters Molly, Mae, and Mary.

She was preceded in death by Robert D. Kinzie, (husband), and Rebecca J. Cox, (daughter).

Serena worked as a Secretary for Friedrich Air Conditioning Company for over 21 years.

She was very talented. She enjoyed sewing, making her own clothes and clothes for her daughters and granddaughter. She loved to cross stitch and crochet. She painted and played the organ for fun. She joined water aquatics with friends well into her 80s. She mowed her own lawn well into her 90s. And she drove herself to church every Saturday evening until she was 98. She was independent and kind. She will be dearly missed.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Monday April 22, 2024 at 12:30pm at St. Pius Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX. Father Pat O’Brien will officiate the ceremony. Serena will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband.
