She was a proud member of the PTA at Morrill Elementary, active member in the Girl Scouts of America and Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Serena was a proud mother of her two precious daughters. Loved by family and many friends, she will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Olga G. Garcia and father, Henry L. Garcia.
Serena is survived by her loving husband, John Monita; daughters; Savannah E. Monita and Hannah A. Monita; brothers, Enrique Garcia, Jr. and wife, Martha, Leonard G. Garcia and wife, Gina M.; best friend Amy Castao; nieces, Coelina J. Garcia, Samantha I. Garcia, Angela A. Lee, and Lauren D. Garcia; nephews, Adrian R. Garcia, Dominick L. Garcia, and John J. Lee; aunts, Sylvia G. Rodriguez and Nell Gutierrez; uncles, Brigido Gutierrez and Guillermo Gutierrez; sister-in-law, Gloria E. Monita.
