He was born June 25, 1952, in Dayton Ohio - where he grew up and met his loving wife, Christie. The two were married for 43 beautiful years. During their marriage, Seth's work led them to life in St. Louis, Missouri; Short Hills, New Jersey; and their current home in San Antonio, Texas.
He graduated from Oakwood High School and the College of Wooster, where he was president of his fraternity, Kappa Chi, and captain of his tennis team. He also received his MBA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Seth was a man of strong faith and very involved in his church, Christ Episcopal, where he taught Sunday school, managed the acolytes and was part of the Friday morning men's Bible study for over 15 years.
He enjoyed spending summers in Rangeley, Maine - a special place for his family. Throughout his life, Seth was an avid tennis player and was consistently ranked in the top ten in the Midwestern conference. He had a love for adventure and the outdoors - a passion he passed down to his beloved son, Spencer. Seth also had a love for his dogs and his dogs had a love for him. A relationship that translated into the children's book that he wrote, The Most Pettable Pup, which will be published in his memory later this year. Seth was often described by those who loved him as dapper - a true gentleman - with a calming, warm and kind presence. He kept this calm and collected demeanor, always, even during life's challenges.
Seth took great pride in his family and his loved ones will deeply miss him. He is survived by his loving family - his wife, Christie Taylor; son Spencer Taylor (Elliott); his sister - and former doubles partner - Robin Landis (Bob); his sister-in-law Cindy Youngerman (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Christine Taylor; his sister, Frances Taylor; and his brother and sister-in-law, Marc and Maggie Taylor.
A memorial service will take place Wednesday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place, in San Antonio. The family will greet guests for a reception at the church immediately following the service. You may watch the livestreaming by clicking this link.
