SFC Deshawn Lee Walker

It is with great sadness that the Walker Family announces the death of Deshawn Walker. He passed on on July 5, 2023, unexpectedly at age 36. Deshawn was born on May 3, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois. He actively served in the US Army for the last 13 years and resided in San Antonio, Texas. Deshawn was pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies at AMU with his dream of leading his own ministry one day. Though he was only on earth for a short time, he is remembered every day by his friends and family. Deshawn was a Man of God with a strong love for people and a passion for helping others. He had a sense of humor that could light up any room, found joy in dancing and music, and truly was the kindest soul you could ever meet. There was nothing in this world he wanted more than have his own family, and he built one with his wife, Pricious; his legacy lives on through his children, Deshawn Jr. and Aaliyah.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Faith Walker, sisters Kellie Walker and Ericka Walker, grandfather Charles Jones, and grandmother Estellle Jones. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife, Pricious Walker; children Deshawn Lee Walker Jr. and Aaliyah Hope Ericka Walker; father Ronald Coleman; birth parents Fredrick Wallace and Sabrina Stone; stepmom Brenda Lesure; siblings Kia Walker, Sheena Stone, Kristel Stone (Malikah, Makya and Jaion), Teaurus Lesure (Ayden, Ryliee and Andrei), Jaylen Lesure (Romeo), and Jacob Williams; niece Qui’ara Walker (Air'Ricq and Ja'Liyah); parents-in-law, Primo and Susan Dongon, brothers and sisters-in-law, Andre and Sharmaine De Leon (Aja J’Adore), Marcedane and Lovely Ann De Vera; as well as numerous friends and extended family members.

Pastor Wesley Pope, Sr. will officiate the Funeral Service and Chaplain Harlow-Curtis will officiate the Graveside Services. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:00AM at the Assembly Area (located near the back of the cemetery).
