Sgt 1st Class Jorge G. Barrera

Sergeant First Class Jorge G. Barrera passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the age of 65. He was born on October 28, 1951 in Carrizo Springs, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Vicente and Margarita Barrera Sr, and brother Alfredo Barrera. Jorge is survived by his wife, Cynthia Moreno Barrera, a son Marco Antonio and wife Vanessa Barrera, daughter Alexandria Lynne Barrera, brothers Vicente G. Barrera Jr., Guadalupe and wife Diana Barrera, Geraldo and wife Maria Theresa Barrera, Oracio and wife Dalia Barrera, and Maria Elena Hernandez and Rick Martinez; as well as Aunts, Uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

On Thursday, June 8, 2017, viewing and visitation hours will be from 6-9PM, with a rosary service at 7PM at Porter Loring Mortuary located at 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78212. The following morning, Friday, June 9, 2017, Porter Loring will hold viewing hours from 8-10:30AM to be followed by the processional at 10:40AM. A Mass Service will be held at 11:30AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church located at 6680 Crestway Drive, Windcrest, Texas 78239. Sergeant First Class Barrera's final resting place will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209 with a service at 1:15PM.
