Shannon was born on April 21, 1986 in San Antonio. She grew up as the middle child of three and graduated from Burbank High School. She was a dedicated mother, daughter, sister, friend, and colleague who was loved all around. She would help others whenever possible whether it was volunteering at SAMMinistries with her dear friend, April Garcia, or being a tower of strength to her family and friends.
Shannon's life revolved around her three boys: Brandon, Sammy, and Noah. Shannon lived through a rough patch with her boys ~ after a couple of years living at SAMMinistries, she was able to gain her independence. For this reason, she especially made sure that her boys were never without any necessity.
The guidance and confidence instilled by SAMMinistries staff and counselors gave Shannon the will and strength to overcome obstacles in her life. With their support and assistance, Shannon developed self-esteem and acquired the "can do" incentive to believe in herself. Perseverance allowed her to make the most of the basic activities that can easily be taken for granted: birthday parties, craft time with the boys, pool/park adventures, bedtime stories, camping, going to the lake, homework, sports, and so many other special mommy moments.
Shannon is survived by her sons, Brandon, Sammy, and Noah; Her brother, Vincent Gomez and nephew, Vicente Manuel Gomez; Sister, Melanie Galindo with partner Juanita Perez; Lifelong best friend April Garcia with husband Noah Garcia and family. Her loving parents Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert and Yolanda Navaira with stepsister Giavanna Patterson; maternal grandmother Pauline Garza and paternal grandmother Gloria Navaira. She is preceded in death by her father, George Galindo.
A viewing of the body will be available to the public at Porter Loring on McCullough on Saturday, September 10th between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 8 p.m. Although only immediate family members are invited to attend the cremation, her last wishes were to have her ashes placed in special keepsake necklaces for her boys to carry her fruitful spirit with them throughout the rest of their lives. The family is beyond grateful for the condolences, prayers, and generosity of all who were able to make Ms. Shannon's funeral arrangements possible.
The family extends a "Special" thank you to the company ~ Alamo Aircraft; Yolanda Navairas job of 33 years. Without their generosity and kindness throughout the years, our family's comfort wouldn't be so obtainable.
This sadness too, will pass, but the blessing of having had Shannon in our lives will endure forever.
