She was born July 3, 1943 to Toby Doom and Virginia Kathryn Campbell of Evansville, Indiana.
She graduated from Indiana University and Northern Michigan University.
She taught elementary school in Indianapolis, Indiana, Bessemer, Michigan and San Antonio, Texas. She taught for 12 years in S.A.I.S.D. at Miller Elementary.
She is survived by her partner of 49 years, Mary Nelson.
